Charter Flights – Frequently asked questions

Bookings

How far in advance do I need to call to reserve an aircraft?

The minimum notice we require is an hour. Individual flights can require additional preparation time depending on the route and any personal requests. Contacting us in advance will help minimise any potential delays and will ensure all necessary arrangements can be made.

Are you available at all times to book a flight?

Yes. We operate 24 hours a week, 7 days a week. We operate on public holidays including Easter, Christmas and New Years. Contacting us in advance will help ensure aircraft and pilots are available for your requested charter.

Can we charter the plane one way only?

Yes. You can have us drop you at your destination or pick you up. However, the cost will be charged as a round trip as the aircraft must return to its home base for subsequent charters.

You are based in Northern NSW- can you pick us up in Melbourne and fly us to Broome, and then to Brisbane?

Yes, but there will be a charge for the leg to Melbourne and to return to Armidale.

Can we purchase just one seat on a charter flight?

No. Unfortunately this is not possible as the whole plane is chartered. Unlike commercial airlines, individual seats cannot be sold on the aircraft. Please feel free to contact us so we can help develop the most efficient charter for your requirements.

Does the cost change with number of people on the flight?
No. When choosing to charter a private aircraft, you are charged for the aircraft no matter how many people are flying on it.  If spare seats are available we encourage you to bring any additional passengers.

Do I need to confirm my booking?

Yes. Bookings need to be confirmed before the aircraft can depart our home base. Please call us on 1800 747 800 to confirm your flight.

Are there additional costs that I will find out about after the trip is completed?

No. We provide a quote upfront for your trip which will be explained to you in detail before the charter commences. Unless the client requests further changes in the itinerary and/or additional requirements, we will honour that quote.

How much does it cost?

Contact us for a quote as each flight is customised and personalised to suit each client’s individual requirements.

How do I get a quote?

Contact us now, or call Brad Edwards, Chief Pilot, on 1800 747 800.

How can I pay for the flight?

The flight can be paid for by credit card or direct deposit. If you are paying by direct deposit, we will provide our BSB and account details on request.

Boarding

Do I require tickets to fly?

No. Tickets are not required to board the aircraft, but you will be required to have suitable identification with you such as a driver’s license or passport.

How soon to be I need to be at the airport before I board my flight?

Normally you will need to be at the airport just five minutes before your scheduled flight. Some airports or charters that require additional procedures prior to boarding may require you to be slightly earlier. We will advise when you will need to be at the airport when you book your flight. Please contact us on 1800 747 800 if you are running late.

What documents will I need to fly internationally?

You will require a valid Australian passport or valid foreign passport.

May I bring my pets with me?

Yes, we have approval to carry assistance animals as well as your pets. Some restrictions may apply, please contact us to discuss any requests.

Is there a maximum limit of luggage I can take with me?

We are quite flexible with the luggage that we can store on the plane but this will depend on the size of the aircraft you charter and how many passengers are on the plane. Particularly for smaller aircraft, soft bags are preferable for loading. We will happily discuss your luggage options when you book your flight.

How many seats does the private aircraft have?

Depending on the aircraft model, our private aircraft can accommodate from one to eight passengers plus the pilot. Browse the specifications of each aircraft to understand their capacities.

Flying

What locations do you fly to?

We service most locations and fly all over Australia and the Pacific Islands.

Are meals served on the flight?

All of our aircraft are stocked with a range of beverages and light refreshments.  Options for catering can be customised as long as we are given sufficient notice and we can normally arrange any meal to be ready for your flight.

Do the aircraft have lavatory facilities on board?

The larger aircraft in our fleet have lavatory facilities. Browse the specifications of each aircraft or ask about the facilities available on your aircraft when you book your flight.

What happens when I arrive at my destination?

On request, we will gladly arrange all your ground transportation when you book your flight. On landing, our pilots will escort you to your transport and make sure any additional arrangements have been taken care of.

How long can the aircraft remain at our destination?

Subject to the day of charter, usually you will be charged a daily standing fee to keep the aircraft with the client.  However, in many instances it is more cost effective to drop your party and collect them at a later date.

How many crew members will be on board?

These aircraft are typically flown by a single pilot, but a second pilot can be provided if required. The Cessna Citation VII requires two pilots at all times.

Is the aircraft safe?

Our highly qualified pilots have a wealth of experience and are regularly assessed by our Chief Pilot and external testing officers. Our focus on safety and continual improvement means our clients can relax, knowing their flight is in safe and capable hands. We continually strive to maintain high standards in equipment, safety and security, in accordance with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority regulations, aircraft manufacturer guidance and industry best practice.

Which aircraft type should I choose?

Browse the specifications of each aircraft to understand their capacities, or contact us for more information, or a recommendation of which aircraft is best to suit your specific needs and requirements.
